BurrisOS Pantry Privacy Policy
Effective August 6, 2026
BurrisOS Pantry does not require an account and does not contain advertising or cross-app tracking.
Information stored on your device
Pantry inventory, quantities, storage locations, expiration dates, meal plans, grocery lists, saved recipes, and cooking history are stored inside the app on your device. Automatic Android cloud backup is disabled. You control any backup file you export or import.
Barcode lookup
When you request product lookup, the scanned product barcode may be sent over HTTPS to product-information providers, including Open Food Facts. The barcode identifies a retail product, not your account, and BurrisOS Pantry does not attach your identity or pantry contents to the request.
Camera and files
Camera access is used only after you choose barcode scanning. File access is used only when you choose to export or import a pantry backup.
Future BurrisOS migration
Moving a pantry into the complete BurrisOS platform will always require an explicit choice. The app will not silently create an account, merge a household, or upload inventory.
